After the Finale of Stranger things aired, people were not happy about the outcome. Some people complained about the pacing and some complained about the decisions made that were put into the Finale. Overall, this episode had fans conclude that this was the worst episode of the show.
Ross Duffer, one of the creators of Stranger Things, had a wife named Leigh Janik. They got married over 10 years ago and a decade later they both had their individual success in their shows and movies. It is rumored that Leigh helped write Stranger Things, which is the reason fans are speculating why the past seasons were so good. Fan also thought that at night Ross would give the script to Leigh, and she would revise, give ideas, or even write the script herself. But, in 2024 Ross and Leigh split which affected the writing of the show. In fact, as they were filming episode 8 of season 5 as they were still writing it.
There was a picture on the internet that showed the Duffer Brothers writing the script while a Chat GPT and a Reddit tab were opened. This makes fans believe that the Finale was written by Chat GPT and ideas of Reddit. Fans believe that the ending was horrible and worse than AI itself.

Noah Schnapp, the actor of Will Byers on the show faced backlash because of his acting. In season 5, his emotions on screen seemed very dry and bland to fans. He was not as expressive as he needed to be within the scenes shown. His voice seemed to stay the same pitch throughout the whole season, leaving the scenes boring. Will’s coming out scene also seemed to do him no justice because of how bad the timing is. During the scene, Will was shown crying without any tears running down his face. All in all, people believe that Noah won’t have an acting career ahead of him because of this.
To continue, fans don’t like the ending that the Duffer Brothers gave Eleven. Fans were sad about her death but an hour later into the episode we are given this idea that she could be alive. The Duffer Brothers also built up the finale to be an emotional roller coaster alongside people dying. Since we don’t know what really happened to Eleven, it interrupted the emotional atmosphere. For instance, only one character died in the Finale which was a character that fans seemed to not really enjoy. Personally, I would have liked to see more people get their sad ending to make the final episode emotional.
The finale of Stranger Things was put into theatres. People online believe that they put it in theatres to distract the fans from how bad the Finale was. However, people that went to the theatres said that they loved the finale with all the onomatopoeia going on in the atmosphere. But when they got home to rewatch it they realized that the finale was bad.
Maxwell Blanchard (9) expresses how he believes the finale wasn’t all that good. He believes more people could have been killed off, and that the ending was overall unsatisfying. Perhaps the ending was too bland for this student.
“I feel like it could have been longer and killed off more people and that it just wasn’t that good,” Maxwell Blanchard said.
The last episode seemed not to be enough for Kennedy Payne (9). Especially since it was the last episode and the ending of the series. She explains how it needed to be longer, maybe featuring more backstory for the overall plot.
“I think it was really good I just wish it was a little bit longer,” Kennedy Payne said.

Annabelle Johnson (10) indicated that we could’ve gotten Eleven back. Maybe the writers choice to kill off wasn’t a character that she would wish to see go.
“I think we could’ve actually got Eleven back,” Annabelle Johnson said.
Destiny Thomas (11), who’s been a fan for a long time, states that she was happy that the season came. She explained that there were many plot holes. For example, Kali in season 2 and where she went after that season.
“They maybe shouldn’t have killed off Eleven. There were many plot holes over the seasons, for example, Kali after season 2 and where she went,” Destiny Thomas said.
All in all, some fans including me feel as if the Finale wasn’t as good as it could have been. The entire Finale felt very rushed and incomplete. It was very antiemetic, which left most feeling unsatisfied.
