Well, it happened again. For the second time in 2026, the US commander in chief carried out strikes on foreign countries. First, it was the “Venezuela Crisis” and not it is operation “Epic Fury” and the bombing of Iran.
As a country, the United States has been a world power for more than 125 years. From what was just a small group of colonies, to expanding to the Pacific Ocean, until now, the United States has seen a huge increase in its territory and power. And rightfully so. There are many instances throughout history that demonstrate how the United States is one of the world’s mightiest countries, and it can all be traced back into the building up of the U.S navy and President Theodore Roosevelt using said navy. Roosevelt, the 26th president of the union, saw great success in foreign policy during his term, and was nicknamed “the worlds constable.” And ever since his presidency, the US has had what is known as an international police power, and the US has greatly used said power to help police the world since then.

Just what was mere months ago, the US has jumped into another campaign on the worlds stage, this time taking down Iranian dictator Ali Khamenei in a strike on Iran during the early days of March 2026. This came a month after the US plunged itself into the South American country of Venezuela to combat the going drug operation and harsh dictator of Venezuela.
The growing threat of Iranian nuclear capabilities prompted the US to strike Iran and destroy any chance of retaliation, especially with the assassination of Ali Khamenei by US Delta Force Specialists. All of this prompts the question; why did the US do all of this?
The United States and Israel both see Iran as a common threat, especially with the Iranian dictatorship killing thousands of Americans and taking strikes of American naval vessels in the past. Throughout history, whenever a foreign body attacks the United States, the US will always answer to defend its citizens. We see that example here, with the US eliminating any threat of Iranian attacks on
the US in the future.
Even with the US destroying Iranian nuclear capabilities in June, the growing threat of that nuclear program being started up again paired with a rising dictator who was heavily anti-US prompted another strike of the nuclear facilities in Iran. In reports circulating hours after the attack, President Trump revealed he was not happy with the situation and used military action as a last-ditch resort.
In an interview with the Washington Post, President Trump said, “It would be nice if we could do it without [military force], but sometimes you have to do it with.” President Trumps abrupt military decision seemed clear cut and quick rather. Others could argue that the attack was a retaliation for something that happened half a year ago. Was there something brewing in the Pentagon for months, possibly, but to the American people this attack was right out of left field, including myself.
Although Donald Trump has made yet another mark on the international stage, I argue that both the strikes on Venezuela and now Iran were coordinated and somewhat justifiable, unlike trying to take Canada or Greenland right out the blue.

Historically, whenever a foreign body attacks the US or its citizens, the US has always done something to retaliate. We see this here, with the former Iranian dictator killing thousands of Americans and Israeli citizens, it is no secret that the US was not going to attack, especially with the looming threat of nuclear warfare breaking out. This attack is never good, but in my opinion, it was necessary for something to be done about the situation in the Middle East. For the American people, if they want a more secure and safe environment, the right actions were taken by Trump to protect the American people and interests.
