Gabrielle “Gabby” Anthony is a name that is making waves in the sports community, specifically in powerlifting and wrestling. She has achieved incredible accomplishments, including being crowned as a wrestling state champion. With a determined mindset and a passion for sports, Anthony has proven that hard work comes to achieving great success. Throughout her high school years, Anthony has been actively involved in a variety of sports and clubs.

“I have been a part of cross country, track, soccer, powerlifting, wrestling, band, and HOSA,” Anthony said.
However, it was powerlifting and wrestling that truly captured her heart and allowed her to showcase her natural talent and hard work. As she reflects on her past experiences, Anthony had learned that a lot of this from the teams. Her dedication and determination are evident in her accomplishments, including being the wrestling state champion.
“I’ve grown a lot this season because I have put a lot more focus into wrestling this year and, put more emphasis on being the best version of myself that I can possibly be,” Anthony said.
When asked about her mindset going into the state championship, Anthony admits that she was initially nervous but quickly gathered her focus and determination. Anthony’s hard work and growth as an athlete can be seen throughout her journey. This growth mindset and dedication to her sport have allowed her to surpass her own expectations and achieve impressive accomplishments.
“I tried to apply myself more to technique this season, rather than just being aggressive, and I’m glad it paid off,” Anthony said.

Reflecting on her previous performance at the state championship, Anthony acknowledges that it had a significant impact on her mindset going into this year’s competition. To prepare herself for a meet, Anthony has a well-crafted training routine that includes lifting heavy weights the week before the competition. During the week leading up to the meet, she focuses on resting and taking care of her body by indulging in a relaxing hot bath and maintaining a nutritious diet. Staying hydrated by consuming electrolytes is also an essential part of her routine. When it comes to managing her nerves before a powerlifting meet or wrestling match, Anthony prefers to maintain a clear and focused mind.
“I don’t ever have many thoughts running through my head before a meet. I like to isolate myself and listen to music to calm my nerves and clear my mind,” Anthony said.
At such a young age, Anthony has already achieved great success in her sports and continues to inspire others with her dedication and growth mindset. Her story serves as a reminder that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
