All the Best Liars by Amelia Kahaney

All the Best Liars by Amelia Kahaney

Maddy Snyder, Staff Editor/Writer

Sydney Green, Rain Santangelo, and Brie Walsh started out as best friends: nine years old, neighborhood playmates, filled with clueless innocence. But as the girls aged, their friendship crumbled, with Brie moving to the nicer side of town and joining the popular pack of girls. Sydney and Rain, on the other hand, remained the same: spunky, broke, and unpopular, but happy. That is until Rain won the lottery… literally. Rain’s new wealth changed things; the girls who had once directed gossip and glares at her began to act friendly, and Brie and Rain reignited their friendship. Rain thrived in this society of sportscars and underage drinking, parties and teenage boys. Meanwhile, Sydney was left jealous and alone, her once best friend blowing her off for new friends and new money. When an unexpected fire engulfs Brie’s mansion in flames, killing Brie, Sydney is the number one suspect. Over the course of Amelia Kahaney’s All the Best Liars, Sydney, Rain, and Brie narrate their perspectives, reflecting on the past five months and unravelling the truth behind Brie’s mysterious murder.

This book was enthralling to say the least; I truly could not put it down and read it from cover to cover in one sitting. Page after page I was captivated by Amelia Kahaney’s incredible ability to take such a twisted plot and present it in such a relatable way. If you like murder mysteries with an added touch of girl drama, All the Best Liars is the book for you.
